Market Lady

July, 2006. Colin and Julie in Cambodia are beginning to send some very nice photos. This portrait piece was done from a photo they took while in the market near their home. The Cambodians have rather fine features. Reminds me of the paintings I have done of the Native Americans.

As I understand it, this lady is on her way to provide breakfast to the local vendors in the market. The basket with the aluminum pot in it actually has a fire built in it. The coals keep the water hot that steams the contents of the Red basket. The other basket contains the condiments for breakfast. Kind of like, fast food on foot.
