On our final visit to Uganda and surrounds, April and I spent significant time learning from ‘Women Concern Ministry’, a locally run NGO who was working to assist AIDS orphans North of Mbale Town. The five boys pictured had suffered the death of both mother and father. Oliva, on the right, would be assisting them with farming practices so that they might care for themselves. The photo was taken in the middle of a rainstorm inside of the only shelter they had available, a mud wattle hut that was in bad need of repair. As we listened, the rain was running down our backs. While their father had begun to build a fine home for them, he died before he was able to put a roof on it. For $50 U.S. we were able to purchase the materials for their new roof.
All our prints are carefully profiled in our own printing studio where we can guarantee fantastically accurate and consistent reproductions of the watercolors using giclée (the highest quality) printing techniques . And, Alan has carefully selected the paper that his watercolors are printed on to one that most closely conveys the character and the luminosity of the original watercolor.
