It was customary in Uganda that when a mans brother died, he would 'adopt' his wife and their children as his own. It was not uncommon in the wake of the aids epidemic, to meet blended families of a dozen or more children and multiple wives. The children in this painting have no faces; the fate of many of the children born into a culture without opportunity.
All our prints are carefully profiled in our own printing studio where we can guarantee fantastically accurate and consistent reproductions of the watercolors using giclée (the highest quality) printing techniques . And, Alan has carefully selected the paper that his watercolors are printed on to one that most closely conveys the character and the luminosity of the original watercolor.
